KRONPLATZ or THREE PEAKS ?

ANYTHING’S
POSSIBLE.

“Magnificent mountains, sun-drenched heights, we are mountain wanderers” – that’s more or less how an old, popular folk song goes here, and yes, the sun isn’t too fussy about the time of year here. Without any city smog, you can enjoy blue skies all year round. You can. If it doesn’t work out, just slip on your flip-flops and head down to the basement.

And right in the middle of those magnificent mountains stands the Christof. Situated exactly between the top ski resorts of Kronplatz and Drei Zinnen, the snow lovers amongst you will have it easy. You can go hiking and tuck into hearty meals at rustic alpine huts all year round anyway, and when the temperatures drop low enough, you can even go ice-skating on the Prager Wildsee.
Romantic, we know. None of this is more than half an hour away from us. And you can even leave the car behind and relax. It doesn’t get any better than this – prove us wrong.

So you’ve got the picture: we’re in Welsberg town centre, in a perfect location. But you’ll see that for yourselves on Google Maps. By car, train, bus or gondola, you can reach all the highlights in under 30 minutes, with services running every half hour.

We definitely prefer public transport: it’s hassle-free and, with the Guest Pass, it’s even free for you. You can pick it up straight away at check-in.
And if that’s still not enough, we can even organise a helicopter (but really only in exceptional cases).

It’s just a five-minute walk to the railway station, from where it takes you to the Kronplatz valley station (as mentioned, in just 12 minutes, with services every half hour). If you fancy a change of scenery, you can simply head in the other direction to the 3 Zinnen ski resort – and, guess what, by train too. We’re situated right between these two giant ski resorts. It only takes 18 minutes to get there as well.

That’s what we call ‘quick access to the slopes’ here. You don’t even have to carry your skis or anything else you need. There’s a free ski storage facility right by the platform. So you save yourself the hassle of warming up the car, hunting for a parking space and dealing with traffic – and you can even have one more drink. And anyone who’s been paying attention will already know that the train journey is free for you.

If you’re more into cross-country skiing, that’s fine too. Cross-country trails lead straight from Welsberg into the Gsiesertal and the Hochpustertal. There are so many kilometres of trails that we can’t even count them all, and the views are brilliant too.

You can also go tobogganing, snowshoeing – or even sack racing in the deep snow, if you fancy it; we’ve got sacks at the hotel. We don’t mind – if you’re happy, so are we.
