IN THE
MIDDLE OF IT ALL.

We’re right in the middle of the Dolomites’ hotspots — the ones the whole world keeps talking about. From Hotel Christof you reach Plan de Corones for hiking & skiing by train in 12 minutes. The Tre Cime di Lavaredo are about 30 minutes by car. And Lake Braies? Less than 15 minutes. No bullshit. So if the hotel concept hasn’t convinced you yet, maybe the location will.

Just five minutes on foot and you’re at the train station. From there? 12 minutes straight to the base of Plan de Corones. Every 30 minutes. No drama. Want some variety? Hop on the train the other way to the Tre Cime ski area. Yes, by train too. We’re right between both ski giants. That ride? 18 minutes. Easy.

We call it slope access – express style. No need to carry your gear around: there’s a free ski depot right by the tracks. Which means: no warming up the car, no parking hunts, no traffic jams. And yes, maybe one more drink for you. Oh—and did we mention? The train ride is free.

More into skinny skis? Perfect. Cross-country trails start right in Welsberg and lead deep into the Gsies Valley and the Upper Puster Valley. So many kilometres, we stopped counting. And the views? They deliver.

You can also go tobogganing. Or snowshoeing. Or—why not—sack racing in deep snow. Yes, really. We’ve got the sacks at the hotel. We don’t care what you do. If you’re happy, we are too.

So you get it: we are in downtown Welsberg, in a perfect starting position. You can check Google Maps. And if it really has to be, we’ll even arrange a helicopter. Really only in exceptional cases.

The Dolomites work all year round anyway. Skiing in winter. Hiking or biking in summer. And autumn and spring? Also great. Because in the off-season, there’s famously not much going on. So when do we recommend coming? Well. Always. Obviously.
